These Terms & Conditions apply to all interpreting and accessibility services provided by Lagundo ASL Services (LAS). They remain in effect unless and until replaced by an updated version.


1. Description of Services

Lagundo ASL Services provides professional communication access services, including but not limited to:

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting

  • Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

  • Captioning Services (CART, TypeWell when applicable)

  • Performance & Entertainment Interpreting

  • Visual or Deaf Interpreter Coordination

All interpreters contracted through LAS adhere to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.


2. Rates & Billing Terms

  • Services are billed per interpreter, per hour

  • A 2-hour minimum applies to all bookings

  • Time is billed in 30-minute increments, rounded up

  • Billing begins at the scheduled start time and ends at the scheduled end time — including breaks

  • If services extend beyond the scheduled time and interpreters are available, the additional time will be billed accordingly

  • Custom quotes are provided for large-scale events, media bookings, or high-profile performances

A formal estimate will always be provided prior to service confirmation.


3. Number of Interpreters

Some assignments may require more than one interpreter to ensure linguistic accuracy, compliance with interpreting standards, and protection against interpreter fatigue. LAS will assess and recommend appropriate team size based on duration, content complexity, and intensity of the event.


4. Emergency / Rush Requests

Requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled start time may be subject to a Rush Fee ranging from $50 to $100, depending on complexity and interpreter availability.
LAS will always confirm rush rates with the client prior to scheduling.


5. Performance, Media & Recording Clause

Any assignment involving live performance, video recording, live streaming, broadcast, or other public-facing media may be subject to additional rates, licensing, and agreements.

Clients must notify LAS in advance if services will be recorded or distributed. A Media Release Agreement may be required for both interpreters and the agency.


6. Travel

Travel fees (mileage, airfare, lodging, and per diem) may apply for out-of-area assignments. Any travel-related expenses will be discussed in advance and require client approval.


7. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • Cancellations made with less than 2 business days (48 business hours) notice will be invoiced in full

  • No-shows by the client, consumer, or organization will also be billed at the full appointment rate or 2-hour minimum, whichever is greater


8. Payment Terms

  • New clients may be asked to prepay at least 48 hours before their scheduled service

  • Standard payment terms: Net 15

  • Invoices past due by more than 30 days will incur:

    • A $25 late fee, and

    • 1.5% monthly interest (18% annually)

  • Preferred payment methods: ACH/direct deposit or check

  • Credit/debit card payments are subject to a 3.5% processing fee


9. Confidentiality & HIPAA Compliance

LAS maintains strict confidentiality standards across all assignments. Interpreters contracted through LAS are expected to:

  • Abide by the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct, where confidentiality is a central tenet

  • Follow HIPAA regulations for any medical or protected health assignments

  • Protect all client, patient, and consumer information with discretion

A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is available upon request for HIPAA-compliant services.


10. How to Request Services

Requests can be submitted through the following channels:

We encourage you to submit requests early, especially for holidays, large-scale events, or specialized bookings.


11. Agreement & Modifications

By confirming services with Lagundo ASL Services, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions.
LAS reserves the right to update or amend these terms at any time. Updates will be made available via our website and/or upon request.
